Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) and Garuda Indonesia, the country’s national airline, have entered into a strategic alliance to integrate cutting-edge technologies and solutions aimed at transforming Indonesia’s aviation and tourism sectors. This initiative is also supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf RI).
The collaboration was formally established through a signing ceremony at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s headquarters in Jakarta. The agreement was signed by Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and Irfan Setiaputra, President and CEO of Garuda Indonesia, with representatives from Kemenparekraf RI and Sandeep Chakravorty, the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, in attendance.
This partnership focuses on driving digital transformation to elevate service quality in the aviation and tourism sectors. Garuda Indonesia will explore implementing advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency, enhance ancillary revenue streams, and deliver personalized experiences to passengers. This collaboration aims to add significant value to both Garuda Indonesia and its customers, while positioning Indosat as a leader in technological integration within these industries.

Additionally, this collaboration supports Kemenparekraf’s initiatives to bolster Indonesian tourism. Efforts include joint research and insights to strengthen the tourism sector with the latest technologies and the development of tech talent, particularly among women, in the country’s top five tourist destinations.
