3 June 2025 — In a move set to enhance the education and career prospects of future finance professionals, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the University of London have announced the launch of a new BSc (Hons) Professional Accountancy programme. The joint initiative provides a streamlined pathway for students to earn an academic degree while working towards the globally recognised ACCA Qualification.
The newly launched programme blends the rigour of academic learning with the demands of professional training, enabling students to pursue a single, integrated route to becoming ACCA members. With more than 250,000 members worldwide, ACCA is one of the largest and most influential accountancy bodies globally.
Students will be able to apply for the new degree from December 2025, allowing them to progress toward both qualifications concurrently. Designed with flexibility in mind, the BSc can be completed entirely online, aligning with ACCA’s and the University of London’s commitment to accessible and inclusive education. Learners will be able to study via supported online platforms or, where available, access in-person tuition through the University of London’s global network of Recognised Teaching Centres.
A dual advantage for future finance professionals
The joint programme addresses a key decision many accountancy students face — whether to prioritise academic or professional credentials. The partnership offers a comprehensive solution to this dilemma.

The collaboration builds on a successful relationship between the two institutions, which previously introduced an MSc in Professional Accountancy for ACCA members and affiliates.
