CARSOME Group Inc., the largest integrated car e-Commerce platform in Southeast Asia, has announced the appointment of Miguel Fernandez as its new Group Chief Financial Officer. Effective from November 1, 2023, Fernandez will report directly to CARSOME’s Chairman and Group CEO, Eric Cheng. Fernandez takes over from Juliet Zhu, who will continue in her role as Group President.
With a diverse background spanning public, private, and venture capital-funded firms, Fernandez brings extensive experience in various industries, including FinTech, e-commerce, manufacturing, distribution, private equity, and financial services. He has held senior financial leadership positions at renowned Fortune 100 companies such as Amazon, Dell, and Coupang, with a focus on the Asia Pacific region for nearly seven years.
Prior to joining CARSOME, Fernandez served as the Group CFO at Maya, a FinTech portfolio company backed by KKR and Tencent in the Philippines. Before that, he held the role of CFO at Coupang Fulfillment Services, the largest subsidiary of Coupang.
Fernandez’s expertise extends beyond finance, as he has also held notable positions in operations and supply chain logistics, complementing his strong technological background. Recognized for his business acumen, he has served as Head of Commercial and Operations Finance in prominent global companies.

Cheng also expressed gratitude to Juliet Zhu for her significant contributions as CFO since January 2020. He acknowledged Zhu’s pivotal role in CARSOME’s growth journey over the past four years and highlighted the company’s commitment to continue working closely with her to drive growth and synergy across all businesses.

Miguel Fernandez holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Logistics from Regis University, where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors. Additionally, he completed an MBA in Finance and Information Systems from St. Edward’s University.
