The symposium began with a keynote from Neil Tan, Chairman of AI Hong Kong and Managing Partner at Tsunami Advisors, who set the tone for the day with a compelling overview of how artificial intelligence is transforming finance and treasury functions.
This was followed by a Technology Spotlight session led by Ronald Lee, General Manager at Oracle NetSuite Hong Kong. Ronald highlighted how NetSuite’s integrated cloud system for business management is revolutionising finance operations. With AI-driven insights, NetSuite allows organisations to automate core finance tasks, gain real-time visibility, and pivot rapidly in today’s dynamic environment. CFOs Take the Lead on Strategic Agility
A powerhouse panel featured Danny Ho, CFO at SmarTone; Steffen Jung, CFO of the Helicopter Division of Greater China & Mongolia at Airbus; and YK Lee, Group CFO at Qi Group. The panel was moderated by Guru Balasubramaniam, Country President of Securitas Hong Kong. Together, they explored how CFOs are embracing their evolving roles as strategic advisors, driving business resilience, digital innovation, and operational agility.
This was followed by a fireside chat with Morris Hui, former Treasurer and Executive Banker at Hong Kong Jockey Club and Standard Chartered, moderated by Tricia Koh of Allianz Trade. The session addressed cost management and long-term risk planning.
In a subsequent panel moderated by Dr Travis Huggins from Knight Frank, Helen Leung, Finance Director for APAC Leasing at JLL; Julie Chew, Managing Director of Finance at Nomura International Hong Kong; and Angus Tsang, CFO at CN Logistics International Holdings Ltd, discussed the growing demand for cross-functional finance professionals and the future-proofing of finance teams.
From Human Capital to Cybersecurity
The afternoon opened with a fireside chat featuring Peter Ying, CFO at AliA Biotech Group, and Simeon Ng, Associate Finance Director at MiTrade. Their conversation explored financial agility, foreign exchange risk, and the evolving demands of cross-border payments in a global economy.
This was followed by a people-centric panel discussion featuring Stephen Lo, CFO at Prenetics; Cindy Ngan, Head of Finance at Asia Investment Management; and Lydia Liu Dalais, Group Finance Director at Jardine Restaurant Group. Moderated by Ray Ng, Group CFO at XB Market Ventures, the discussion addressed talent shortages, digital upskilling, and gender inclusion in finance leadership.
Cybersecurity took centre stage in a powerful fireside chat featuring Silvia Lam Ihensekhien, Director of Information Security & Risk Management at Swire Coca-Cola Ltd; Welcome Chan, Head of IT Security & Network at Chong Hin Bank Ltd; and Dicky Wong, CEO of Syber Couture. Together, they shared insights on how CFOs and CISOs must align to safeguard their financial reputations and organisational resilience in a volatile digital environment.
Defining ROI in the Age of AI
The final panel of the day tackled the practical question: What is the real return on investment of AI in finance? Speakers Jeff Zielinski, CFO at Buyandship; Addison Liao, Group Financial Controller for Data & Analysis at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group; and Bianca Ho, Director of Information Technology at Swire Hotels, provided strategic frameworks to balance innovation with measurable business outcomes. The panel was moderated by Horace Ma, CFO at S Culture Holdings (BVI) Ltd.
