  • Newly developed digital tools empower SMEs, corporations, financial institutions, and government bodies in their sustainability endeavours.
  • Gprnt strengthens its strategic alliance with Ant International and MUFG Bank, supported by GFTN and Microsoft.

Singapore, November 8, 2024Gprnt, a digital platform created by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and data, has officially launched its Disclosure and Marketplace tools. These pioneering resources aim to streamline sustainability reporting for businesses, connecting them to a comprehensive ecosystem designed to support their decarbonisation efforts. This launch aligns with Gprnt’s commitment to providing digital solutions that meet the core sustainability reporting needs of companies in Singapore.

The launch also highlights Gprnt’s deepening collaboration with strategic partners Ant International and MUFG Bank. Together, they are working to deliver solutions that simplify and make sustainability reporting cost-effective. Gprnt’s development is further strengthened by the support of Microsoft and the Global Finance and Technology Network (GFTN), enhancing the platform’s scalability and expanding its reach across borders.

Ravi Menon, Chairman of the GFTN Board and Singapore’s Ambassador for Climate Action, stated, “The introduction of Gprnt’s solutions is a significant advancement in Singapore’s sustainability journey. Gprnt offers businesses digital infrastructure for seamless access and reporting of verifiable ESG data, bolstering their climate risk management and net-zero strategies. As Gprnt expands its reach across the region, the value of these solutions will only grow, contributing to a broader transition across Asia.”

Empowering Businesses with Accessible Reporting

Although 9 in 10 companies worldwide express a keen interest in ESG reporting to meet growing compliance and stakeholder demands, many, particularly small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), face considerable challenges when initiating their sustainability reporting efforts. The Gprnt Disclosure tool addresses these challenges, offering an accessible, AI-powered solution that enables companies to quickly measure their Scope 1 and 2 emissions.

Helping Businesses Begin: SMEs often lack the expertise and resources to commence sustainability reporting. Gprnt assists these businesses by connecting them with integrated databases from both government and private sector sources, enabling them to effortlessly calculate their basic emissions.

Generating Core ESG Data: Gprnt supplies metric packs for essential areas like emissions reporting, climate risk management, and green procurement, equipping companies with foundational ESG data relevant to these use cases.

Streamlining the Reporting Process: Producing a sustainability report is frequently the most time-intensive aspect of a company’s sustainability strategy. Gprnt leverages technology to simplify data collection and enables users to generate a basic disclosure report instantly, facilitating more efficient reporting practices.

The Gprnt Disclosure tool is free for individual use by all businesses, with data control remaining entirely with users, who decide who can access it. Larger organisations can deploy a customised version for a competitive fee to gather data across their supply chains, supporting comprehensive Scope 3 reporting.

Equipping Businesses to Take Action

The diverse landscape of sustainability solutions often leaves companies uncertain about how to proceed. According to recent research, nearly half of Singapore’s SMEs report being unaware of the tools they require to begin their sustainability journeys, as different offerings from various providers can be overwhelming.

To tackle this issue, Gprnt has introduced a Marketplace that acts as a unified platform connecting businesses with a network of sustainability solutions. Integrated with Gprnt Disclosure, the Marketplace uses an intelligent recommendation engine to match companies with solutions that suit their profiles, helping them take meaningful action based on their ESG data. SMEs can now access tools that add genuine value on top of Gprnt’s foundational services.

Currently, listing on the Gprnt Marketplace is free, and 78 sustainability solutions are available at launch. These encompass diverse areas, including Scope 3 carbon accounting, decarbonisation, energy optimisation, sustainability-linked financing, capacity-building, and third-party assurance. Gprnt intends to grow industry engagement with the Marketplace and integrate its offerings with platforms like NetZeroHub.SG to enhance accessibility.

Fostering Collaboration Towards National and Regional Sustainability Goals

Guided by a strong sense of purpose, Gprnt’s 2025 roadmap focuses on forming partnerships that address the sustainability reporting needs of Singapore’s financial institutions, corporations, trade associations, and government agencies.

Starting from Q1 2025, Gprnt plans to:
• Work alongside Ant International and MUFG Bank to drive regional SME empowerment, sustainable supply chain finance, and shared community outreach initiatives.
• Launch pilot projects with organisations including Canadian Solar, China Construction Bank Corporation Singapore Branch, City Developments Limited, DBS, HSBC, Maybank Singapore, NTT DATA Singapore, OCBC, Standard Chartered Bank, and UOB across a range of sustainability use cases.
• Collaborate with trade associations such as the Singapore Manufacturing Federation and the Sustainability Alliance to deploy sustainability reporting tools and work with the Singapore Business Federation to support the Singapore Emissions Factors Registry.
• Partner with entities like Singapore Exchange (SGX Group), MAS, and the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) to introduce a climate-related disclosure (CRD) module, helping larger companies meet their CRD obligations and broader sustainability requirements.
• Engage with Enterprise Singapore to enable local businesses to obtain emissions data for reporting and collaborate with the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) to assist Statutory Boards in managing and publishing their environmental disclosures.

Lim Tuang Liang, Government Chief Sustainability Officer at MSE, added, “Gprnt’s tools will be instrumental in simplifying sustainability data management and reporting, enabling organisations to focus on impactful sustainability strategies. We anticipate strengthening our collaboration with Gprnt to help agencies manage resource use and explore further synergies.”

Supporting Asia’s Sustainability Transformation

Looking ahead, Gprnt will continue developing products and partnerships to address Asia’s increasing demand for ESG reporting amidst complex regulatory requirements. New features expected in 2025–2026 include a digital assurance module, an AI-powered sustainability assistant, a portfolio analytics tool for data-driven decision-making, and an ESG data registry that aggregates insights from Gprnt’s users.

Through close cooperation with industry partners, Gprnt aims to extend the adoption of these solutions beyond Singapore, supporting all organisations in optimising their ESG reporting to promote meaningful, informed steps towards net-zero targets.
