Singapore, October 23, 2025 – To improve the employability of professionals in accountancy and tax, as well as to introduce tertiary students to the fundamentals of ESG, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) and Junior Achievement (JA) Singapore. The agreements serve to bolster ACCA’s dedication to the cultivation of a sustainable, future-ready workforce and the motivation of the next generation of finance professionals.

The MoU signing occurred at the Annual Conference of ACCA Singapore, which was titled “Navigating Permanence in Disruption: The Future of Trade, Talent, and Transformation“. A gathering of more than 200 finance leaders, policymakers, and business professionals convened to deliberate on the strategies that organisations can employ to prosper in a world that is characterised by perpetual disruption. The primary topics of discussion included the necessity of workforce evolution, digital transformation, and sustainability.

The partnership with NTUC’s e2i will investigate initiatives to reskill and upskill Singapore’s accountancy and tax workforce. These endeavours will improve the employability and career advancement of individuals, increase the productivity of the workforce, and facilitate recruitment in the accounting and tax sectors, as well as a variety of other industries. The objective of this collaboration is to establish accountancy and tax as lucrative and appealing career paths for professionals.

Caryn Lim, CEO, e2i, stated, “We are pleased to be part of this collaboration to uplift the accountancy profession and create new opportunities. Together, we can help shape jobs and skills so that accountants are well-positioned to leverage their financial expertise with data analytics and innovation. This enables them to continue contributing meaningfully across industries.”

Junior Achievement Singapore and ACCA signed a second MoU, marking a significant advancement in sustainability education for younger students. A programme will be jointly developed by both organisations to provide tertiary students with an understanding of how sustainability, ethics, and governance influence Singapore’s future economy. This programme will expose students to the fundamentals of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. By assisting students in connecting sustainability to national objectives, including the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and the Ministry of Education’s Eco Stewardship Programme (ESP), the objective is to cultivate a pipeline of responsible future leaders.

Ng Hau Yee, Executive Director, Junior Achievement (JA) Singapore, said, “Young people today are not just future employees, they are future decision-makers. Our partnership with ACCA will provide students with the tools to understand sustainability as more than a concept. By linking ESG to real-world issues and the national agenda, we hope to inspire a generation that leads with purpose, ethics, and a deep sense of responsibility to their communities.”

Daniel Leung, Country Manager, ACCA Singapore, added, “ACCA has always been driven by our purpose, to be a force for public good. These partnerships with e2i and Junior Achievement embody that mission by creating opportunities for continuous learning across generations in upskilling and reskilling for the future economy. By working together, we’re strengthening the accountancy profession’s role in driving sustainable growth and preparing Singapore’s workforce for the challenges and possibilities ahead.”
